Upgrading a trinket is an economical alternative to buying an entirely new one. One can upgrade their trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as the previous one, and will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. Once the old Trinkets are not usable, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players and are a popular alternative to gold. Players should upgrade their most important items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, followed by their secondaries, and finally other gear items that they will not be replacing in the near future (for instance rings or cloaks). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when selecting the items to upgrade.
